Climate change

Oh man, it got cold fast in NYC. It's hard to believe that just a month ago, Pailo and I were on the beach.

I'm typing this in my room, wearing sweatpants, wool socks, a t-shirt, hoodie, and skull cap. In fact, right now, I look like this: Photo 51.jpg

Brr!

I just finished 8 links on this "knit chain scarf" thing I've been working on, and I watched a show about locusts. Did you know that a certain species of cannibalistic locusts swarms really quickly because the locusts in front are just trying to get away from the locusts in back? Just to not get eaten? That seems like a tough life.

I think my ego got really bruised after the apple pie contest at Enids. I am not too interested in making that apple pie again. (Wow, it's so windy outside!) Instead, I invited John over last week for dinner. I made what John mistakenly called dumpkins - actually chicken and dumplings, but with a very special John Polly edit. So after eating our dumpkins and having a bit of wine, I wanted something sweet. I had caramel sauce and apples (see previous posts), so we went with that...IMG_6998.JPG

It was pretty tasty! But hey, what's not to like about fresh, tart apples dipped in caramel sauce, eh?IMG_6999.JPG

My pals and I are heading up to a beautiful house outside of New Paltz this weekend. I'll be doing a lot of cooking and baking, so I'll definitely have more posts and fun food stuff to talk about soon! And some more good photos coming soon, too!

Oh, and just for kicks, here's a picture from Halloween of me, Charlie, John, and Dean.IMG_6991.JPG

Can you believe we're all single?!

Pie for now!

I think you should...

A) turn your heat on.

B) not worry about silly pie contests and bake more! you're an awesome, intuitive baker. and i'll help you eat things.

C) make more dumpkins. i'll eat them, too.

D) wear overall short-shorts more often.
